Sumit Roy holds a Postmaster degree in Natural Resource Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management and master's degree in agriculture chemistry and Soil Science from University of Calcutta. Sumit is currently serving as Head, Production Landscapes and providing strategic leadership for promoting the adoption of sustainable production practices that support conservation and enhance biodiversity in priority landscapes.
With over twenty years of experience in the field of sustainability, Sumit's expertise encompasses certification standards, management of water footprints, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in agricultural contexts. His work covers a broad spectrum, including the application of advanced agricultural technologies, advocacy for evidence-based policies, the formation of large-scale partnerships, as well as research, assessment, and the execution of projects in sustainable agriculture. Sumit is particularly focused on pioneering Nature-Based Solutions to enhance sustainability in agricultural landscapes.
